1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Block Cheddam ("Application," "Platform," "Service," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Block Cheddam regarding your access to and use of our mobile application, services, software, and website located at blockcheddam.com.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must immediately uninstall the Application and refrain from using our services.

2. Description of Service & Core Features

Block Cheddam is a mobile digital wellbeing application designed to help users build healthier screen-time habits, reduce smartphone distractions, and improve productivity through gamified companion incentives. Key features of the Service include:

• App Usage Monitoring & Blocking: Real-time detection of foreground applications using Android system APIs to enforce daily time allowances, usage limits, and custom schedules.
• Virtual Pet Companions: Gamified virtual companions (Cat, Dog, Panda, Rabbit, Fox) that earn Experience Points (XP), level up, and evolve based on user focus time and completed break sessions.
• Interactive Mindful Pauses: Full-screen overlay interruptions during blocked sessions featuring breathing exercises, short mini-games, health reminders, and pet interactions.
• Analytics & Usage Insights: Local statistical dashboards showing daily, weekly, and monthly screen time trends, focus duration, and break frequency.
• Cloud Backup & Leaderboards (Optional): Cross-device profile sync, achievement badges, and optional community leaderboard rankings.

3. Eligibility & Account Registration

To use Block Cheddam, you must be at least 13 years of age or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction. If you are under 18 years of age, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

You can use the core features of Block Cheddam without creating an account. If you elect to register an optional cloud account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete account information. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities conducted under your account.

4. System Permissions & Device Operation

To provide reliable app blocking and digital wellbeing features, Block Cheddam requires specific system permissions on your Android device:

• Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Grants permission to monitor foreground package events to detect when limited applications are opened.
• Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Grants permission to render interactive break overlays on top of targeted applications.
• Foreground Service Execution: Grants permission to run persistent background services for continuous timer tracking and reboot recovery.

You acknowledge that disabling or revoking these system permissions within your device's Android settings will prevent Block Cheddam from executing its app blocking and timer functions.

5. License & Intellectual Property Rights

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download, install, and execute Block Cheddam on personal Android mobile devices owned or controlled by you, solely for your personal, non-commercial digital wellbeing management.

All rights, titles, and interests in and to the Application—including but not limited to software code, graphic designs, virtual pet artwork, UI animations, sound effects, trademarks, logos, and written content—are and will remain the exclusive property of Block Cheddam and its licensors. You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, create derivative works from, distribute, sell, or exploit any portion of the Application.

6. Gamification, Virtual Pets & XP System

Block Cheddam incorporates gamified virtual rewards, including Experience Points (XP), companion levels, evolution stages, and achievement badges. You acknowledge and agree that:

• Virtual items, XP, levels, and digital pets have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged, redeemed, transferred, or converted into real currency or physical goods.
• Virtual items and progress are licensed to you as part of the gamified Service and remain property of Block Cheddam.
• We reserve the right to modify, adjust, rebalance, or update virtual pet mechanics, XP formulas, level thresholds, and achievement requirements at any time without prior notice.

7. Prohibited User Conduct

When accessing or using Block Cheddam, you agree that you will not:

• Attempt to circumvent, tamper with, disable, or modify application blocking mechanisms, local database records, or virtual XP counters through reverse engineering or unauthorized memory modification.
• Use the Application for any unlawful, illegal, fraudulent, or malicious purpose.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with Block Cheddam on community leaderboards.
• Engage in automated scraping, botting, or network disruption against our cloud authentication or database servers.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APPLICATION AND SERVICE ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, BLOCK CHEDDAM DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APPLICATION WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, FREE OF VIRUSES, OR THAT APP BLOCKING MECHANISMS WILL OPERATE INFALLIBLY ON ALL THIRD-PARTY ANDEMIC AND CUSTOM ANDROID HARDWARE OR OPERATING SYSTEM FORKS.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL BLOCK CHEDDAM, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES—INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS, DEVICE DAMAGE, OR PERSONAL TIME MANAGEMENT ISSUES—ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ACCESS TO, USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION.

10. Modifications to Service & Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Application or Service at any time without prior notice. We also reserve the right to revise these Terms periodically. Your continued use of Block Cheddam following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your binding acceptance of the updated agreement.

11. Termination

You may terminate your agreement with Block Cheddam at any time by deleting your cloud account (if registered) and uninstalling the Application from your devices. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to cloud services if you violate any provision of these Terms.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms or the Application shall be instituted exclusively in competent courts located in India.
